What I love most about this grill is that I know we won't be needing to replace it, probably EVER with proper care, which is minimal. And it cost less than bigger, fancier gas grills that you'd have to replace in 5 years or so. We live near the coast, and grills just don't last. This one will and performs beautifully!!! We love the retro look and it's sleek styling. I'm glad they decided to start manufacturing these again!

I owned a PK back in 1965 and had it until about 1980 when I couldn't find grates anymore and somehow it went away.

These things are great! There simply isn't any product like this. Now that I've found one again, I'm going to get it and dump my Weber. I've done 15# stuffed turkeys on the beach in Mexico in windy conditions, cooked in the snow, done fish, steaks, veggies, you name it. Nothing like a PK!

halved chicken over indirect heat beautiful. Easy to control temperature. searing steaks, no problem. Close dampers and charcoal dies out easily. Thought grill cover was alright, but after 60 mph winds stayed on with no problem (custom fit). Would highly recommend to anyone who likes charcoal grilling.

The grill is nearly perfect. For direct grilling leave the top up until your food reaches your desired level of char. It really excels at indirect grilling and there is enough clearance under the top for the largest bird. It would be perfect if the following design changes were made. Move the lower vents from the bottom of the grill body to the sides. This would prevent the charcoal ash from falling through onto the bottom shelf. Make a more substantial grill surface, either cast aluminum or heavy stainless. I would gladly pay more for a heavy duty grill surface that I could clean easily. You will need to use perforated aluminum foil after a few months to keep the rust off the food.

Pricy but worth it.

My father bought a PK grill in 1959. We lost the grill in a move in 1987.I am so glad to have gotten another. The shelves on the outside of the grill are a great addition and the top cooking rack a must have(great for baked potatoes, corn on the cob & vegetables). The PK Grill is the most efficient way to cook I have ever used. Cooks anything: turkey; ham; corn; burgers; steaks; vegetables, etc. Just follow the PK Grill cookbook, or make up your own.

Grills and smokes like a grill should. Very good quality construction in the price range of flimsy gas grills and much more portable. Only real downside observed is that bottom air vents, when open (or being opened), dump ash on the bottom shelf limiting usability. Overall, very, very satisfied.

My husband had purchased one in 1983 and we needed a new grill because the old one had finally got a hole in the bottom of it. It had survived a storm dropping a three hundred pound bookcase on it. He would not buy any other grill but the kind he had and there in was a problem no one knew were to buy it they had never heard of it and so on. I when to the internet and started searching putting in every way I could think of that I could find this elusive grill after about four hours of searching I was about to give up when I stumbled upon it. I used the PK Charcoal grill this weekend at our Galveston Texas beach house.The greatest grill I have ever used.Followed the EZ instructions and the steaks and hamburgers turned out excellent. I will purchase a second grill to replace the gas grill we have at our Houston Tx. house. The existing gas grill will be placed by the curb for pick-up by the trash collector. Thank you very much.
